چکیده

The first beam collision study was done in the KEKB double ring collider. Beam collision conditions were found by searching beam-beam deflection curves in a trial-and-error method. From these curves, beam sizes at IP and a luminoisty was estimated.

A Gated Beam-position Monitor and Its Application to Beam Dynamics Measurements at Kekb

KEKB has transformed to an effective head-on collision by using of crab cavities from a crossing collision and gained a higher specific luminosity. A gated beam-position monitor, being capable of measuring the beam phase as well as the transverse position of a specific bunch in a bunch train, has been developed and is used to measure a beam-beam kick. The monitor estimated the effective horizon...

Special Beam Position Monitor with 8-button Electrodes for the Kekb Interaction Region

To maintain the optimum collision condition of the two beams, two special BPMs with 8-button electrodes, called OCTOPOS, were installed inside the super-conducting quadrupole magnets (QCSs) at the interaction region (IR) of KEKB. We have commissioned the OCTOPOS BPMs for simultaneous measurements of both the electron and positron beam positions from their composite signal. A collision orbital f...

Beam Position Monitor System for the Orbit Feedback at the Interaction Region of Kekb

To maintain the optimum collision condition of the two rings, two special BPMs with 8-button electrodes, called OCTPOS, were installed inside the super-conducting quadrupole magnets (QCSs) at the interaction region (IR) of KEKB. Four normal BPMs with 4-button electrodes were incorporated outside the QCSs. We have commissioned the OCTPOS BPMs for simultaneous measurements of both the electron an...

Simulation Study for Luminosity Reduction in Kekb

In commissioning of an e − e− collider, a great deal of effort is put to search and to remove origin of the luminosity reduction. We have studied luminosity reduction mechanisms using computer simulations to help the jobs. We consider collision among an electron bunch and a positron bunch; that is, do not consider any multi-bunch effects. One turn map of beam particles consists of the beam-beam...

Optics Measurement at the Interaction Point Using Nearby Position Monitors in Kekb

Optics parameters at the interaction point, beta, x-y coupling, dispersion and their chromatic aberrations, seriously affect the beam-beam performance as is shown in experiments and simulations. The control of the optics parameters is essential to maintain the high luminosity in KEKB. They drift day by day, or before and after the beam abort. They were often monitored at intervals of the operat...
